Why should I buy a Vespa over something less expensive?

In a word... QUALITY. Lets elaborate...
1. Its the original scooter. Classic Italian design and styling.
2. Stamped and welded steel unibody construction gives it greater rigidity, longer durability and superior ride quality.
3. Details... better fit and finish, chrome accents, hidden screws.
4. Better components. Vespa uses beefier engine components then the competition to add to the durability and quality.

Yes, you will spend more on a Vespa but you are NOT simply paying for a name. If you spend $1200.00 more on a quality Vespa then a Genuine Buddy 150 $4399 MSRP and $3199.00 respectively thats 25 bucks a month for 4 years for a far superior scooter made of steel and better quality parts. (Thats if you put nothing down and finance the whole thing.) The Fly 150 is actually only 2899.00 and still has beefier engine components for better quality for those on a thinner budget. Ride them both before you make your choice.

The Vespa is Made in Italy but what about the Piaggio?

Great question! All of the Piaggio and Vespa line with the exception of the Fly series are made in Italy. The Fly originally was made in Italy until 2007 when they outsourced its assembly to one of their Asian (China) plants to save on assembly costs and compete with other Asian built bikes like the Yamaha Vino  and the Buddy 125 and 150. It shares the same engine with the Vespa 150's which are much beefier then the competition. Look for a side by side comparison coming soon to show the Fly 150 is a much better built scooter then both the Buddy and the Vino and not problematic as other dealers might lead you to believe.

Do you offer training or lessons?

Although we are not a training facility we will spend time with anyone who purchases a scooter to make sure you are very familiar with how your scooter should handle and will use our 30+ combined years of riding and racing experience to help you learn. We do recommend taking a scooter or motorcycle course for anyone who has little or no experience riding. (it is required if you are under 18 by Ohio state law.)

Does Vespa Cleveland work on vintage scooters?

YES! We have found that most of the vintage scooters are fairly easy to work on but require patience. They are mostly mechanical and pretty simple designs and parts for most of them are readily available for the Vespas. The Lambretta's are harder to find parts for but still available and can be sourced as well. Their are other old vintage scoots out there so if you have questions just give us a call.

Do I need a special license?

Yes, in Ohio you need a motorcycle endorsement added to your driver's license. We can help you prepare! You can legally ride with your temporary permit with certain restrictions until you pass the riding test. You just need the license to ride not to buy, so if you are buying as a gift for someone don't worry, we can make your transaction very easy.

Do I need insurance?

Yes you do. Contact your insurance company to find out how affordable it is to insure your scooter.

Will I save money on gas?

Well, our models range from 55-75+ mpg. If you use your new scooter to replace your SUV or car for commuting, than without a doubt, you will save money on gas. Beware, you might be on the road even more with a scooter because they are just so much fun!! Also Piaggio uses real world mileage estimates not bench test figures like most other motorcycle and scooter companies.

Can I ride this thing anywhere I want to go?
Well, if you get caught riding the bridle trails in the Metro Parks you are going to have to pay the ticket, not us.

Seriously, we can find a scooter for whatever fits your needs.

The 50cc scooters (max speed 35+mph) are best for around the yacht club, campground, or community where speed limits do not exceed 25-30 mph. These would be great for small frame college kids on campus too.

150cc's can easily attain 60+ mph depending on hills and rider size, so these can easily be used for commuting to work, store and just looking cool. Although it is legal we do not recommend that you ride the 150cc models on most freeways at least not for long distances. Our 150's can hold over 400lbs so passengers can be ridden on the 150's too. (our most popular model).

200cc & up: these scooters might seem small in comparison to some motorcycle models, but they can be used for long trips, freeway commuting, and comfortable two-up riding. Capable of maximum speeds of 75-100+ mph. Anywhere you want to go, we can provide your ride!

Why don't I just buy one of those $1000 scooters on ebay?

To be brief, you will be throwing $1000 (or more) in the trash. Many of these companies claim to comply with all state and federal sales regulations, but since they operate from distant locations, they don't play by any of your consumer protection laws. Where are you going to take it for service? Who is their "authorized" repair facility? Many of these companies are pimping Chinese made scooters, which have cannabilized the most inexpensive scooter designs and then take the extra steps to save production costs even further by lowering quality and workmanship. Some of them even give you a radio so you can listen to it when you are broken down on the side of the road.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...

How do I pay for this new toy?

We have financing available, although with the prices we offer, many people pay with credit card, check...and yeah we take cash :)

What happens if I need something fixed?, How reliable are these Vespa's/Piaggios?
With regular maintenance (oil changes, hub oil, regular service maintenance) these motors are good for many, many years. All of our new scooters come with a 12 month UNLIMITED mileage warranty. That's cool with us, they just don't break! Well...in the rare case they do have a problem, We have a Vespa/Piaggio certified tech on staff. If ANYTHING goes wrong, we can fix it...quickly. We can work on new, old and other model bikes as well, just give us a call! We also can repair any nicks, scratches or collision damage...insurance claims too!
